CON REPORT 1: AnimeNEXT 2010

Wooo! Long time, no update LJ~...I am a terrible blogger XDD But! I have totes have a legit excuse. I graduated college in the middle of May and pretty much right after that, my friends and I were in full on convention prep mode for this year's AnimeNEXT~ <3 kabukiroad, pastry_doodle  , cakewaltz , and I went all out with our cosplays this year and did characters from two of the most elaborately dressed shows ever; Kuroshitsuji and Umineko no Naku Koro ni.

LOL I know you guys are probably only clicking this in the hopes of finding pictures, but I'm still sorting through them. This post shall just be my thoughts on the con this year.

I thought ANEXT 2010 was a lot more fun than last year. They seemed a bit more organized this year, but I was disappointed in a few things.

1. Lack of Panels: The lacking of interesting panels. Apparently the con itself was understaffed and they couldn't hold as many panels going on at the same time? This resulted in everyone going into the few panels that actually were happening, thus causing those panels to fill up really quickly. I couldn't get into Little Kuriboh's panel because of it. Not that I mind really. I would have liked to go, but I didn't mind missing it.

2. Lines: Another issue I had was with lines. I'd really like to know who thought it was a good idea to have everyone line up for the Masquerade in the SCORCHING HEAT. WTF guys. :| It wasn't even an actual line, but more like a bunch of people piled out in the grass outside the convention center. Also, I thought a lot of the staff was quite rude D:

3. Small Dealer Room: There wasn't that much in the dealer room this year. I felt a lot of them were selling the same stuff as each other.

That's all I really had issues with pretty much. The awesome and entertaining Masquerade made up for the suckish programming with panels. It even made up for the suckish Masquerade last year~ A lot of the skits were really funny XD

I didn't go to any panels at this year's con, which is a little unusual, but I didn't really mind it. The Kuroshitsuji cosplay gathering completely made up for that. Me and my group met a lot of awesome people and made a lot of new friends ^^ Overall, this con was super fun and I had a great time. Besides the Kuroshitsuji gathering, my main highlight is being Grell Sutcliffe and being in character all day. I pretty much went "SEBAS-CHAAAAAAN~~~~!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥" to every Sebastian cosplayer I saw. The look of approaching doom on their faces were really amusing to see as I pranced over. One Sebastian even hid behind her Ciel XDDD Also, me and my friends were stopped SO. MANY. TIMES for pictures~ I love it. I feel like such a celebrity at conventions XD

Pictures to come soon~ 8DD
